Why access is by charter at all
Pink Beach Lombok Island, known locally as Pantai Tangsi, has no scheduled service. Reaching it means hiring a boat, and that single fact sets the shape of every budget for the day. Departures run from the Sekotong peninsula in the west or Tanjung Luar in the east, each with its own drive and its own crossing.
A standard charter vessel is a traditional outrigger, a jukung, roughly eight to ten metres long and comfortable for four to six passengers. A half day runs about four to five hours; a full day, seven to eight. Fuel sits inside the charter fee rather than beside it, which matters more than it sounds — the distances between Tangsi and the islets around it, Gili Petelu and Gili Pasir among them, are what the engine actually spends.
